Well it's another week and another month. How exciting. LOL. This week I tried to use my 'new' gazelle when I could, which wasn't a whole lot since it seemed every time I got on it the baby wanted to cry or get fussy. But that's ok. Had a much better week drinking water, but now our faucet brita is no more, so guess I'll be getting a new pitcher. Seems our faucet did not like the adapter. Boo. Ate more veggies this week too, which was wonderful. And I'm down 2 lbs. Yay me. I have decided to only let one weigh in a week count, even though I try to weigh in on the wii all the time, but one counts. I'm hoping to lose 5 lbs in the next couple of weeks and finally get out of the obese and into overweight. I also found out this week that the gym on one the bases has a family room so I can take my lil man, sit him down and work out. Hope to try that this week. In my Wii Challenge group on SparkPeople I learned that its National Procrastination Week. Oh boy. Well I'm hoping that I can curb my bad habit and stay on track, maybe even get on a better track.
Goals for this week:
Set up a new plan. I read Katie's
It's a work in progress so you may have seen plenty of changes over the last bit. I'm working to make it more appealing for everyone and yet showing who I am. Hope you enjoy and come back soon.

Check out a New Jewerly Site
So I heard about this jewelry website called ChunkyBling.com. They have many different types of products such as interchangeable beaded watches, interchangeable charm necklaces, and other chunky jewelry like bracelets, rings. They have a really cute blue crystal ring on there that I would love to get, blue is my favorite color. You can even host an online jewelry party with some friends and earn a bunch of FREE jewelry, which I might try to do, I love earning free stuff and parties are a lot of fun. Check them out at ChunkyBling.com, look around and I'm sure you'll find something you'll like.

Is your life filled with anger
Email I received from Sparkpeople. will comment on later but thought it was good to ponder on.
Is your life filled with anger?
When someone cuts you off while driving, or misses an appointment you made together, you probably get angry. Often our imaginations create internal situations and fantasies that perpetuate those feelings until you are boiling and ready to take it out on someone else. Truly though, we waste too much of our time and energy feeling negatively towards all sorts of things in our lives. When was the last time you went an entire day without feeling angry? Think about the times you most frequently feel those tense, frustrated feelings building up in you and examine the root. If the situation is unavoidable, you've got to force yourself to accept it and move past it. Maybe you need to sit down with a co-worker and talk to her about what is bothering you--instead of just letting her idiosyncrasies get under your skin each day. Perhaps you need to find an alternative route home to avoid the daily traffic jam that makes your blood boil. Your body and mind will thank you for the peace such moves provide in the end.

My Mamavation post for the week
Are you able to focus on your goals?
I got an email from sparkpeople that asked this question. I know right now its been hard for me to focus on my goals, especially since I need to reevaluate what my goals are or what I want them to actually be. I know that I want to be in better health overall, I want to lose weight and feel better about my overall appearance but I know that my health is a big thing. I have had this phantom pain/mystery pain that I've had for awhile and no one hasn't been able to tell me yet. So I figure if I get some of this weight off. So I made my plans at the start of the year, and thought that it would be easy. I was able to do it last year and I had a part time job and tons of stuff going on but was able to get a workout in. But now, it's so hard to figure it all out. My time management has seemed to have disappeared as soon as I had my son. Having a small one (who just turned 4 months) has just totally fried my brain. But I'm learning how to work in some type of activity. 10 mins a day is easy, doing some leg exercises with the ball and some weight lifting while playing with my son. Using sparkpeople to track my minutes, which this week was not the best week, but I did get some fitness in. I really like the wii active game, it seems to help me tone my arms. I'm not a big fan of running, but its something that my husband loves to do and I would love to be able to run with him. A goal that I'm hoping to add is to at least learn how to jog and try it. I found a gazelle machine on cragislist that we went and picked up today and I can't wait to start using it at home. It's so hard to get to the gym since finding time and all is hard. But having stuff at home helps. I purchased Tracey Mallet's Sexy in 6 book, and received it today and can't wait to get through it. I also received my copy of her dvd Get Your Body back, and I can't wait to use it. I'm hoping that Monday will be a great starting time. With the stress of the upcoming whatever with the navy, it's just adding to my lack of ability focus, but I know I need to learn to refocus my goals.
My eating was much better this week. Thank goodness. I gave up candy for Lent, I LOVE candy and it will be good for me. Kept the junk away from the house, have been paying attention to serving sizes, but have not been writing them down or tracking them. I use to love to use sparkpeople to do my tracking, and just need to get back into it. But I'm proud of my choices that I making most days with my food, there are the times when I will have more than a serving, but I also realize on those days that I'm not eating as much as I should. I am adding more fruit and veggies, they are such great snacks and wonderful. I had a couple of days where I got my water in, now to get more of those days.
Goals for this week: MORE water. use my gazelle every other day to try and get use to it, and work my way through Tracey's book. I hope everyone has a great week.

4 months
It is so hard to believe that I have an almost 4 month old. He will be 4 months old on Monday. Time has really flown by and every day I fall more and more in love with this little person. He has brought so much joy into our lives. And to think just a year ago we found out that we were pregnant. It was such a scary time, we had suffered through the heartache of miscarriage and I just wasn't sure that I wanted to believe that it was going to be our luck, but here we are with just the most beautiful boy. I know at some point I need to sit down and write my birth story. I've not done that, nor have I really shared it all. LOL but it was quite an experience and I am so grateful that I was able to have my hubs home with me for it, as plenty of people in this lifestyle don't get to have the spouse with them. But I'm so blessed to have these two amazing men in my life and can't wait to see how the rest of our lives go. I'm off to bed finally, as it is 1 am and the baby has been asleep for awhile and could wake at any time.
Mamavation Monday, well Saturday/sunday lol
This week, well it wasn't my week. We got some news about the ship that my hubby is attached to, and now we are playing the Hurry Up and Wait game. So needless to say me and my emotional eater self had some oreos this week, more than I should have, but I threw away the package before it was completely finished.. And didn't work out every day like I planned. But towards the end of the week I was able to get myself back on track, kept up with my wii active 30 day challenge and moved on. Stress is not a fun thing for me, but it comes with this life and I know that. On Friday nite I took a recipe from an email I got and made chicken scampi, it was very yummy, and only about 450 cals with pasta and all (I think). With tomorrow being Valentine's day, and me not being a big huge fan of the day, I don't have to worry about too many chocolates and all that jazz. Hubby and I are going to make steaks on the good ole george foreman grill and have some steamed veggies and maybe some wine and just make it a quite nite just the 3 of us. Seeing as last year for Valentine's day I found out I was pregnant, I'm not sure anything I do will be able to top that.
My goals for this week, continue with the 30 day Wii Active Challenge, maybe for V-day I'll get the more workouts LOL. Increase water, since I'm only getting a bare amount. Find some recipes for some healthy snacks and make them. When I go to the store I plan on picking up some more fresh fruit and veggies (or maybe even some frozen ones) and use them as snacks to derail my cookies I had this week. With Lent coming up this week, I need to plan my choice to forgo, which I'm thinking candy will be a good choice. I did it last year, and it was quite hard, with my sweet tooth. But I still have a few days until Ash Wednesday. Hope all my #mamavation mamas and sistas have a great week.

Mamavation Monday 2/8
Well last week was an ok week. Not much weight loss, about a lb, but it went up and down. I really need to stick to writing down all of my food and tracking it better, I am not the best with it, but I do try to make the best choices. I started the Wii Active 30 day challenge. I really like it so far, I think I probably need to up the intensity. But I like how it makes me work up a sweat. This week I am hoping to up my workouts. I'm loving the fact that I have some energy, but still need to gets some more. Being the mom of an almost 4 month old is very tiresome, but I love it. My goals for this week are to continue to work my way through the 30 day challenge and add some wii fit too. Hoping to get up to 45 mins a day for a workout, but its hard to get it in when my little one doesn't want to sleep longer than 20 mins. I am hoping to increase my fruit and veggie intake also, at least 5 servings per day. Hope everyone has a great week.

Snow Days
Usually for an entire area to be shut down back home you have to have several feet of snow. Not so much the case here in Hampton Roads. Most places around here got between 5 and 9 inches of snow, but because this area really doesn't see too much snow, they are not really equiped to handle it. Plus drivers here are not the greatest on normal dry days, throw in some wet stuff and they get worse. Like this morning, hubs had to go to work. Not everyone did since it base is closed, but he did due to having duty today (which duty for us is he stays over nite on the boat and has watches and what not, no big deal most of the time, just get bored on those days lol). So as he was almost to work some wonderful hot shot driver comes flying around and spins out and almost hits him, but hits the wall instead. Geeze that's why its called BLACK ICE, you can't see it. Seemed to be a common occurance around the area here this morning too. Oh well guess you'll have that. I'm just glad he got there safely. Just sucks because I would like to go out and get out of the house I've been sitting in since Saturday, but alas no car and pretty much everything is still closed. Our road out in front of the house is still covered with snow and packed down. Man these were the times I wish I was back home lol.
But my goals for today are to work out (which I've already gotten most of done), finish laundry, clean bedroom and do dishes. Not sure what I'll be having for dinner, but something yummy I'm sure. Here's to hoping that I get a nap in also, since D didn't sleep to well last nite poor guy.

Started 30 day challenge
Well I started the Wii EA Sports Active 30 Day Challenge today. Started out on low intensity seeing as I'm still not all that physically active (but working on it) and it was quite a workout. For the 20 mins that I worked out I burned about 142 calories, which awesome for a start. Looking forward to completing this first challenge and then going back and doing it again at a higher intensity. Hoping also that hubs will partake in some of the fun when he can, but his work schedule is not always fun. Now if the baby would let me complete a whole workout without too much fussiness that would be wonderful, but I do what I can when I can. So far I'm really liking the game, we'll see how I feel about it next week. But here's to a new month full of promise.
