Store brand is just as good!!! Giveaway!!!!!

Being on a budget, I love being able to find deals on anything. And shopping at stores that have the own brand of products is always a plus. And a supplier of a lot of the stores that I shop at for my baby's snacks and food is Perrigo Nutritionals.

Savvy moms know every little bit counts when it comes to saving money. From shopping around for the best deals to clipping coupons each week, there are plenty of tips and tricks to stretch a household budget. As families grow and new bundles of joy arrive, it becomes even more important to spend smartly.

Perrigo Nutritionals store brand products are as nutritionally complete as the national brands, but cost significantly less. They are sold under individual retailer brands, such as Walmart’s Parent’s Choice and Target’s Up & Up Store brand product. Moms can purchase store brand products for their baby without compromising nutrition or spending a bundle!

Want more tips? Wife, mother, blogger extraordinaire Crystal Paine’s new book, “Say Goodbye to Survival Mode: 9 Simple Strategies to Stress Less, Sleep More, and Restore Your Passion for Life”, is full of advice on how to not only save, but set priorities and manage time and money. Paine’s book contains practical ideas, like purchasing store brand products, and simple solutions that will help any parent become a super saver!

The products that I was given to try were great. My daughter who just turned one and my son who's 4 and loves to steal his sister's snacks enjoyed them. I'm a big fan of the yogurt bites  and they were just as good as the name brand.

Crystal's book is awesome. She offers so many great tips that she has learned from her many years of trying to keep her family running and her self sane. I love her blog, I'm a regular reader, so having a lot of her great advice in one book to refer to over and over is such a blessing to me.

I am offering a giveaway of the same products I received:
  •         A copy of “Say Goodbye to Survival Mode: 9 Simple Strategies to Stress Less, Sleep More, and Restore Your  Passion for Life” by Crystal Paine
  •         1 container of store brand formula
  •         9 assorted Puree Pouches
  •         5 assorted Puffs
  •         4 assorted Yogurt Bites

Just enter through the Rafflecopter link. It's my first time using it so it's going to be a live and learn experiment. Thanks!!!!

God Strong Giveaway

As I'm still working my way through Sara Horn's God Strong for my Survival Sister Semester, I figured I'd go ahead and post a giveaway. I have been really enjoying the book so far. There are so many things that I can relate to, like the chapter on Superwoman. I have felt time and again that if I can't do it then no one can. But Sara points out that it's not supposed to be like that. God wants to help you with your problems, He wants you to lean on Him and tell Him your worries and fears. I have failed to do that at times when I'm sure that comfort would have helped a difficult time when I was trying to be that Superwoman and do it all. But there is no shame when you need to ask for help. God Strong is wonderful written so that it seems like Sara is talking to you and you can feel a real connection.

For this giveaway, one reader will receive a signed copy of God Strong.

Ways to enter (leave a comment for each one)

1. Leave me a comment when you feel like you could should have been God Strong.
2. Tweet about my giveaway using @sailorsprincess #milspouse or something like that (unlimited entries for that)
3. Check out the Wives of Faith website that Sara has created. Join the forum and find friends like you.
4. Become a Fan my Facebook Page
5. Become a Fan the God Strong Page
6.Become a Fan Sara Horn's page
7. Follow me on Twitter
8. Follow Wives of Faith on Twitter

This giveaway will end on Nov 20 at midnight.

Plum Organics Sampler and Boon Spoon review and a giveaway

I recently found out about EcoMom while I was participating in Healthy Child Healthy World's weekly Thursday night chat. So I contacted them and was sent a really cool Plum Organics Sampler with a Boon Spoon. There are really awesome flavors of food for Baby D to eat, like Mangoes, Pears, and Pumpkin and Banana. They come in easy to use packages so that Baby D can try and squeeze it out, which he's still not too strong yet, but will make it easier when he gets older. All you have to do is attach the Boon Spoon to the top of the packet and squeeze out the food, just as simple as that. It was great for the road trip that we had to take recently due to a family situation.

Eco-friendly Baby Products at EcoMom is allowing me to do a giveaway for $15 in Plum Organics and/or Revolution Foods products. Plum and Revolution offer a wide variety of products from the High Chair to the Lunch box, along with baby food and other products. Also they are sharing with my readers a 15% discount for their site over at www.ecomom.com for your first order, how exciting is that. The discount code is SBBL413 and is good through June 30th.

They have an awesome program called EcoPass, which you can purchase a $99 annual membership and you will receive a 15% discount on every order you place as well as free shipping on your orders, without having to have the $75 minimum requirement. (Very awesome).

So for your chance to enter the giveaway for $15 in Plum Organics and/or Revolution Food products you just need to do the following one or more of the following options and let me know. I'll pick a winner with random.org on June 30th.

1. Follow EcoMomCEO on Twitter
2. Become a fan of EcoMom on Facebook
3. Sign up for the EcoMom newsletter.
4. Follow me on Twitter
5. Become a fan of my blog on Facebook
6. Follow me on Google Friend Connect
7. Follow me by Network Blogs.

Leave me a comment for any of the above that you do so that you can be entered in the $15 worth of Plum and/or Revolution Foods products giveaway from EcoMom, the Eco-Friendly Baby Products.Giveaway is good for US and Canada. Thanks so much for checking us out.

While I did receive the Plum Organics Sampler and Boon Spoon, I was not compensated for reviewing the products and the opinions that I posted are my own. Please refer to my disclosure policy if you have any questions.

SparkPeople and a giveaway

Are you searching for ways to lose weight, or get healthy? I know I've been dealing with weight issues for a while now and have searched out many ways to help me to lose my weight. There are so many different programs/diets/products/etc out there that claim to help and this, that and the other that it can be hard to figure out what is best for you. And a lot of programs cost money too, which if you are like me, money is something that you don't want to waste on something that is a fad/may not work/that you lose interest in/etc. So when I came across SparkPeople a few years ago and learned that it was free I was very excited. I signed up, but got busy and just didn't focus on my weight loss goals, but when I started having health problems and thought that losing some weight would be beneficial, I started to look at SparkPeople again.

They have so many options to help you with any goals that you might have, if it be to lose weight, improve fitness levels, or learn about eating better, there is something on the site for you. They have a food tracker that you can search for tons of different foods and find what it is that you ate and get the nutritional information for it and track your food for the day. There is also a fitness log that you can search your activity and get an idea of how many calories you burned. There are Spark Teams that you can join so you can make buddies and lose weight with people who have similar interests as you. You can even run reports to see your progress.

There are many things that make the site enjoyable. You can earn SparkPoints and earn trophies for your Spark Page that help keep you motivated. There is a Login wheel that you can spin every day to earn extra points, Spark Goodies points (which can be used to buy 'gifts' for your SparkPage or for your friend's Spark Pages), or even earn gift certificates for the Spark Store, which carries SparkPeople products such as tee shirts, fitness equipment, stickers, workout videos and more. Speaking of workout videos, SparkPeople even has a YouTube channel that you can watch workout videos that range from short 3-5 minute videos to 10 or 15 minute videos. ( I use my Wii to watch YouTube videos on my TV.)

But don't take my word for it, Go over to SparkPeople.com and check it out for yourself. There is a site called BabyFit to help you if you're pregnant with maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and so much. The creator of SparkPeople even wrote a book, The Spark, to explain how SparkPeople works and how to work towards your goals, which was on the best seller list too.

I have a $10 Gift Certificate to the Spark People store up for grabs, that I won one day during my daily wheel spin and would love to offer it to one of my readers. Just post your entry comments below and I'll pick a winner on June 5th (its a short giveaway since the certificate is good until June 20), so get your entries in by midnite June 4th.

Main Entry: Tell me one of your fitness/weight loss/healthy living goals. My goal is to work in fitness every day of some type, which isn't really hard when some studies have shown that just 10 minutes a day is something, and there are plenty of 10 min videos on Spark People to help you.

Extra Entries:
1. Follow me on Twitter
2. Follow my blog over on the left hand side by Google Friend Connect
3. Fan my Facebook page
4. Tweet about my giveaway and let me know you did.
5. Follow my blog on Network Blogs on the left hand side.

I was not paid to promote SparkPeople, I just love the site and hope that others that need to lose some weight find it helpful. I also was not given the gift certificate to provide as a giveaway, I won it during my daily Spark Points spin and do not have any need for it since I have plenty of fitness stuff at my house (and hubs says I can't get anymore until I use what I've got LOL).

101 Things I Learned in Culinary School giveaway.

I enjoyed reading through the copy of "101 Things I learned in Culinary School"  by Louis Eguaras with Matthew Frederick, that I received from Hachette Book Group.  There is a whole website about 101 Things I Learned in (fill in the blank) school located here.

Here's a quick description of the book:

Louis Eguaras, a renowned chef at the Le Cordon Bleu Program at the California School of Culinary Arts, provides readers with a terrific overview of what is truly involved in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals. He also provides invaluable insights into just what is involved in making this one's chosen profession.

The book will feature a wide range of illustrated lessons, from how to properly hold a knife... to the history of food... from food preparation and presentation... to restaurant hospitality and management, and much more.

The book will be presented in the distinctive and highly-attractive packaged style of 101 THINGS I LEARNED IN ARCHITECTURE SCHOOL, and will be the perfect gift for anyone who is thinking about entering culinary school, is already enrolled, or even just the casual chef.

I've been working on cooking for the last few years. More so since I got married, but it sucks when you're married to someone who's home less than half the time. So I've been trying to come up with creative meals for just me. But I love cooking for others more. There are plenty of fun little facts included in the book. Like the different types of starch in potatoes. There are starchy potatoes, medium starch potatoes and low starch potatoes. Did you know that there were that many types? And they had different cooking uses? And what about the concept that Good beef is 30 days old? Glad I'm not that big of a beef eater. There are many more fun facts and ideas about cooking that anyone would be interested in.

So I'm able to offer up 3 copies of 101 Things I Learned in Culinary School so that you can learn some interesting things about cooking, or maybe refresh things that you already knew.

Main entry:
What's one thing you love about cooking?

Extra entries (leave a comment for each one):
1. Follow me on Twitter
2. Follow my blog over on the right hand side by Google Friend Connect
