The last week

has been a roller coaster to say the least. It started out wonderfully, my mom was able to visit with us for a few days. While we ate out a lot (my mom only gets to eat out and nice places when she is with us) I still had a wonderful time. Now I need to refocus my work on getting the rest of the weight off. We finally got the treadmill we've been hoping for, and while we have had it for a few weeks, the only time I've stepped on it was to get something out of the room its in. So my goal for today and for this week it to restart the C25K program (since now I'll have access to a treadmill unlike before when I would hope to be able to return to the gym). I'm working on our menu plan for this week, which will be full of chicken meals I suspect and eating from our pantry.

We had a scare with the government with the possibility of the shutdown. It was horrible to stress and stress about if your husband was going to receive his pay check so that we could pay our bills and buy food for ourselves. But at least we know that he will be paid in full on the 15th. Now the 1st of the month is still questionable, since the budget is not finalized yet it is just another extension of sorts. I hope that they are able to come to an agreement and get what needs to be done finished. I'm assuming with that added stress of the last few weeks I've gained some weight, but I've yet to step on the scale, that will be tomorrow morning. I'll let ya know how that goes..........

I loved having my family visit while we were stationed far away. Its a great excuse to do fun things. This was quite a stressful week. Hopefully everything goes smoothly so the scares can be avoided..
Good luck with the treadmill and workout plans.

There are a lot of healthy things you can eat at restaurants, for the most part! Train yourself to make good choices no matter where you are :)

I'm glad the government didn't shut down...I have a lot of friends with military spouses and I think it's an odd situation that the senators would get paid, but not the men/women fighting for us

So glad that the government did not shut down, I know that was somewhat of a relief for your family. I hope that they get everything straightened out soon. Best of luck to you this week.

That is a tough situation to be in. I don't even pretend to imagine what that's like. I hope things can be put into order and this silliness can end so you can get back to your routine and not have to worry about whether or not paycheques are coming in.

Wait a minute, what?! Really? Our military families wouldn't get paid?

Holy shitballs. That is just beyond not right. I am so glad you have at least some relief in this situation.

Total sidenote: You have a treadmill! Jealous. :)

I so hear you on the scary. I am not in military but brother-in-laws is and I do all his accounting. I was all over the phone telling him to make sure he is sticking to basics only.
Have a great week

That can be very stressful. I will keep you in my thoughts. I wished I had a treadmill. I want one in the worst way. I am glad you are getting yourself back on track. That's what it's all about.

Congrats on getting a treadmill! I want one sooo bad, but don't have anywhere to put it. Can't wait to hear how you like it.
I'm glad the shutdown didn't happen. My hubby's company works with the military, and most of his coworkers were really stressed out.

It really sucks that you are having to deal with all of this stress right now. Totally not fair! We were concerned about the shut down too but only because it would delay our tax return and we really need that money to pay some overdue bills. Good luck with C25K, it is a lot of fun!
